Test Results

How we let you know about the results of your blood tests, samples, scans and X-rays.

How we let you know about your test results

We will contact you if your blood test results need any action. If you haven't heard from us, you don't need to contact the practice. You can view your results in the NHS App.

  • Results show up in the NHS App once a GP has checked them.
  • Please make sure we have your right mobile number, so we can reach you if we need to.
  • Please do not call us or use the online form to ask for test results.

When your results will be ready

These times include the time for us to get the results back and check them.

Blood tests: usually 5 working days

Please allow 5 working days.

Urine, stool or swab samples: usually 7 days

Please allow 7 days. We will text you when we have checked them.

Scans and X-rays: usually up to 3 weeks

Please allow up to 3 weeks. We will text you when we have checked them.

Did a hospital doctor ask for your test? Then the result goes back to the hospital team, not to us. Please contact the hospital clinic for that result.

Getting results for someone else

We only give results to the patient. We can give them to someone else if they have proxy access or written consent.

Are you a parent or carer? Read our proxy access page to set this up.

How to book a blood test

Has someone at the practice asked you to have a blood test? Book it with the Oldham Blood Test Service.

Blood tests for children are booked with the hospital clinic.

What Our Patients Say & Why Join Quayside

Verified 5-star Google reviews shared by patients at Quayside Medical Practice in 2026

"I cannot put into words how fantastic this GP surgery is! From the receptionists who are always so lovely, friendly and helpful and always try to go the extra mile to help me, to the doctors and nurses who do the same — what stands out the most is I feel listened to, understood, and I feel in safe hands. The care provided is a full team effort, and more importantly that team includes me as the patient. I cannot thank you all enough!"

"My grandmother and I attended her GP appointment yesterday. Unfortunately, due to car trouble, we arrived a little late. From the moment we arrived, Georgina on reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She kindly contacted the doctor to see if he would still be able to see us. Dr. Panicker was very accommodating and managed to fit us in despite our late arrival. During the appointment, he was extremely thorough, polite and took the time to listen. He gave us a clear summary at the end of the consultation and made sure all of our questions had been answered before we left. Overall, it was a very positive experience. We would like to say a big thank you to both Georgina and Dr. Panicker for their kindness, professionalism and for making such a positive impression of the GP service."

"Dr Wilshere was very helpful and informative. He took time to explain matters and provided reassurance. Called surgery at 8am, appointment at 9am — overall a very good experience."

"What a wonderful doctor... he listened, empathised and made me feel like it mattered that I felt unwell... he was the best doctor I've seen since the late 80's when my doctor was Dr Sturgess. I can only hope he's there to stay and not a locum doctor."

"Attended with my wife for her flu jab today and asked if my appointment could be brought forward from Monday. The young receptionist went to check with the nurse and came back smiling — 'you're on!' So nice of her and willing to go a step further for a patient. Well done."

"I can only speak to my own experience, but so far as a new patient I’ve been really impressed with the service and the staff who have been nothing but helpful, and after being at my last practice that was something that I was certainly concerned about... Overall, I think they are certainly from my own experience recently extremely efficient and responding in a timely manner to queries especially via email."
